At The Lands Council...

We preserve and revitalize Inland Northwest forests, water, and wildlife through advocacy, education, effective action, and community engagement.

We collaborate with a broad range of interested parties to seek smart and mutually respectful solutions to environment and health issues.

We're enriched by the beauty of nature. We're energized by the recreational opportunities it affords. And we're inspired to preserve its legacy for future generations.

At The Lands Council, that's the work we do, every day!

Mt. Spokane Update - Comments needed!

It's arrived! The Draft Environmental Statement (DEIS) for the Mt. Spokane Land Use Classification for the PASEA, the Potential Alpine Ski Areas Expansion, has been published.  State Parks is taking comments on the draft, which are due Sept. 30, 2014.

This is a head's up alert to let you know that it's crucial to get comments in, and we are working on talking points which we will get to you soon.

Meanwhile, if you want to get a jump on the commenting or if you are really curious about what a DEIS looks like, here is the link:

To learn more and help us help you facilitate comments, please come to our Open House on Friday, Sept. 5 from 5:30 to 7:30.  You will be able to write up comments and/or sign a post card.  Also, we'll have some wonderful photos of Mt. Spokane taken by professional and amateur photographers to provide you with inspiration!
