Wander Wild - Camping & Trail Maintenance

The Lands Council is partnering with Friends of Scotchman Peak to help the USFS build new trail at Ross Creek Cedars.  We are seeking volunteers to assist with rebuilding/restoring a section of trail in the beautiful Ross Creek Cedars.

Schedule:
Friday, August 2nd:
Camp at Bad Medicine Campground in Kootenai National Forest
From Troy, follow Hwy 2 east for 3 miles to the junction with Hwy 56. Turn and follow for 21 miles to the south end of Bull Lake and Ross Creek Cedars road 398. Follow 398 for approximately 2 miles to the campground.

Saturday, August 3rd: Trail Maintenance
We will join the Three Rivers Ranger District to rebuild the crossing on Ross Creek Trail #142 at the intersection with South Fork Ross Creek Trail #321.  Energy level permitting, we can also hike and explore the area.  For those eager and full of energy, the challenge of Scotchman Peaks awaits on Sunday.

Camping available Saturday night in Heron, MT.

No experience necessary. All tools required for trail work will be supplied.
