Become a Volunteer
Volunteers are the backbone of all grassroots activism.
When you volunteer, you play a vital role in making lasting change and improving conditions for the future. And, whether you want to meet new people or learn more about environmental concerns facing your area, volunteering with The Lands Council is a great place to begin.
Getting involved can also be a great way to build career skills, gain experience, and invest in a worthy cause. No matter what your skill level, we can use your help.
Our volunteer opportunities include office assistance, bulk mailing preparation, tabling and outreach, special events, and more.

*CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES*
As summer draws to an end, The Lands Council is busy planning a variety of autumn festivities. Volunteers are always welcome and greatly appreciated! We invite you to participate in the following volunteer opportunities:
• The Lands Council is holding an Open House on Friday September 5th, 2008. Volunteers are needed to assist with this event from 4:30PM-7:30PM. Please help us give a warm welcome to our visitors!
• Volunteers are needed for a fun night of phone banking at The Lands Council on Tuesday September 9th 2008 from 5:30PM-8:00PM. It will be an exciting opportunity to reach out to people interested in the work and mission of The Lands Council. Pizza and refreshments will be provided!
• The Lands Council is organizing a series of tree planting river restoration projects this autumn…
- The first event will be held on Saturday September 27th 2008 from 9:00AM-12:00PM at Campion Park. Our Campion Park restoration planting day will focus on planting more than 100 native trees and shrubs along Hangman Creek near Campion Park.
- The second event, in conjunction with the Friends of the Falls River Clean Up Day, will be held on Saturday October 4th 2008 from 8:00AM-10:00AM at the Sandifur Bridge near High Bridge Park. Volunteers will participate by cleaning up the river banks and by planting native trees and shrubs along the shore.
Both days of tree planting will be exciting group events and are great ways to kick off the approaching autumn season!
