Paddle the Hanford Reach
On August 25th, John Roskelley, internationally acclaimed mountaineer and author of Paddling the Columbia: A Guide To All 1,200 Miles Of Our Scenic & Historical River, will be leading two kayak tours of the Hanford Reach segment of the Columbia River.
The Hanford Reach is the last non-tidal, free-flowing section of the Columbia River in the United States. The tour will launch at 9:00 am, and will take paddlers 19 miles from Vernita Bridge to the White Bluffs WDFW Boat Launch. Depending on the speed of the water, the trip will take 5 to 6 hours.
Some paddling experience required. Paddlers will need to make their own way to the Vernita Bridge launch site, but kayaks, paddles, and PFDs will be provided by Mountain Gear. Paddlers must be 18 or older.
Tickets are $150 per person, and spots are limited. All proceeds will benefit the Center for Environmental Law & Policy and The Lands Council.
*Trip is weather-dependent. If the event is canceled due to high wind forecasts, ticket holders will receive a full refund.
