Join The Lands Council for an educational day hiking Beacon Hill and discussing all things wildfire and fire ecology, as we explore the burn area of the 2016 Spokane Complex Fire. Through examinations of wildland firefighting methods, fire ecology and botany, as well as fuel management strategies, we hope to provide some insight as to how our lands recover from fire and what that means for our soils, vegetation, and land use. The hike is 3.5 miles long and is moderately difficult in parts, we ask you to please take this into consideration when signing up as space is limited. We will be stopping along the way at multiple points to discuss our theme of fire ecology and resiliency, we hope to see you there!
