The Lands Council and the Dishman Hills Conservancy are teaming up to bring you on a sunset hike to Eagle Peak in the Dishman Hills Natural Area with stunning views of the Spokane Valley. This is a moderately strenuous 4-mile hike in the northernmost area of the Dishman Hills. The view from Eagle Peak extends across the Spokane Valley and shows the possible connection to the south conservation units known as Glenrose and Iller Creek. This area is surrounded on three sides by urban development and serves as a vital corridor for wildlife in the area. With good weather, we will enjoy a fantastic view of the sunset from the top before heading back to the cars.
This is a moderately difficult hike on sometimes rough trails. The trails may be rocky or muddy in places, so wear boots or shoes appropriate for uneven terrain. Please dress appropriately for the weather.
We will depart from Camp Caro at 6:00 pm. Please park in the lower lot by Appleway and walk up to the Camp Caro Lodge. Bring water, snacks, and hiking poles if you wish. Dogs are allowed on leash.
