TLC has recently been designated as an official “SnowSchool” site!
A part of the Winter Wildlands Alliance, SnowSchool is a K-12 educational program that helps connect youth across the country to snow science and winter recreation. As a SnowSchool site, our “Snow Science and Water Resources in a Changing Climate” unit is promoted nationally. We also have access to extensive K-12 snow science curricula, pro-deals on snowshoes and other gear/equipment, fundraising opportunities, citizen snow science activities, webinars/workshops, and networking/collaboration with other snow science educators throughout the US.
We are grateful for this designation and excited to take our snow science work to another level but we need the support of our members to take it to the next level.
Over the last 7 years, I have brought over 2,500 students out on snowshoeing field science trips. Currently we rent snowshoes and shovels for each field trip. That equals a lot of snowshoe rentals over the years.
We're asking our members to help to raise enough money to purchase our own snowshoes for the students to use on the field trips. We need a little extra help from our members to raise the funds to purchase the quantity and quality we would like.
Can you help us by making a donation to help us purchase our fleet of student snowshoes?
Adventure on,
