Field Restoration Technician

The Lands Council is seeking motivated individuals to join our summer field restoration tech crew. In this internship, you will learn vegetation and wildlife habitat restoration practices in a riparian setting: erosion control, reforestation, the use of genetically local native species, removal of invasive species, herbivory protection, revegetation of disturbed areas, shading streams, and habitat improvement for targeted species. This is an ideal position for someone with a flexible schedule who is looking for part-time, physically demanding environmental work that is 100% outside.

Toxics Outreach Specialist

The Lands Council is seeking motivated and community-oriented individuals to serve as Seasonal Toxics Outreach Specialists. This role supports outreach and education efforts focused on public health and environmental justice along the Spokane River.

Outreach Specialists will work closely with the Urban Forestry Program Director and Climate Justice Program Director to engage community members—particularly those most impacted by environmental health risks—through education, surveys, and relationship-building. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy connecting with people, working outdoors, and contributing to meaningful public health and environmental work.

Urban Forestry Technician

The Lands Council is seeking motivated individuals to join our seasonal Urban Tree Planting Crew. Crew members will help plant and care for trees throughout Spokane neighborhoods as part of our CoolCanopy program. This position supports our mission to expand tree canopy, improve climate resilience, and increase tree equity in our region.

Crew members will work as part of a small team planting trees at residential homes and community spaces. This is a hands-on outdoor position ideal for individuals who enjoy physical work, teamwork, and making a visible difference in the community.
