National Public Lands Day

Join The Lands Council in celebrating National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 23rd! It's a day to honor and appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds us, and what better way to do so than by exploring breathtaking landscapes through guided hikes? We have two awesome options for hikes to enjoy with The Lands Council’s staff.

Event Details:

  • Date: Saturday, September 23rd

  • Time: 9:00 AM/10:00 AM

  • Riverside State Park/Bowl and Pitcher = Trail 25

  • North Idaho = Pulaski Tunnel Trail Hike

    • Meet us at the trailhead at 10:00 AM. After the hike, join us at the North Idaho Mountain Brewery/City Limits Pub & Grill in Wallace.

  • Difficulty Levels:

    • Riverside State Park Hike: Easy

    • North Idaho Hike: Moderate-Challenging

Event Highlights:

  • Guided Hikes: Embark on two unique hikes, each showcasing the beauty and diversity of our public lands. Choose between a leisurely hike in Riverside State Park or a more challenging adventure in North Idaho. Our knowledgeable guides will lead the way and share insights about the local ecosystems, history, and more.

  • All Ages Welcome: This event is designed for everyone – from seasoned hikers to families with little ones. It's a fantastic opportunity to introduce the wonders of the outdoors to the younger generation and share the joy of exploration.

  • Responsible Attire and Packing: Please come prepared! Wear comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for your chosen hike's level of difficulty. Don't forget essentials like water, snacks, sunscreen, and a hat. Pack a small backpack with any necessary personal items.

  • Celebrate Public Lands: National Public Lands Day is a chance to give back to the lands that give us so much. Join us in appreciating these natural treasures by enjoying them responsibly and learning about the importance of conservation efforts.

Registration:

Participation is free, but advance registration is required. To sign up for either hike, please complete the registration form. This helps us ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

No Discover Pass required in celebration of Public Lands Day.
