The West is Burning Screening

  • The Lands Council 25 W Main Suite 222 Spokane (map)

As the Oregon Road and Gray Fires demonstrate in devastating detail, we have a wildfire crisis in the West. The Lands Council, along with the Northeast Washington Forest Coalition and Colville National Forest is hosting a screening of The West Is Burning.

Please join us on Thursday, September 28th from 6:00 - 8:30 pm at the Magic Lantern Theater.

THE WEST IS BURNING raises awareness about the conditions of forests in the western U.S. Told through a full-feature documentary, we examine the history of forest management and litigation that led to the current conditions which are causing catastrophic fire nearly year-round. The film explores the urgent need to act now, and the potential to generate positive change in our forests, watersheds, and communities, both rural and urban.

The screening will be followed by a discussion panel with regional wildfire professionals.
