Whether you’ve been a strict vegan for years or you’re just testing the waters, it can be hard to come up with innovative meals that taste delicious without butter, cheese, or meat. You could certainly scroll through social media or search the depths of Google to find new recipes, but there’s something special about learning in a hands-on way. That’s where cooking classes come in.
After another year of devastating climate-driven wildfire, drought, and an unprecedented heat wave that killed over 100 people across our state, it is critical that Washington continues to act to reduce carbon emissions and protect our communities from the worst impacts of the climate crisis through smart energy policies.

At 16.7 million acres, the Tongass National Forest of Southeast Alaska is the largest forest within the National Forest system. The Tongass is also the largest intact coastal rainforest supporting over 400 animal species - including habitat for the largest concentration of black bear as well as unique population of salmon-eating wolves. The streams and coastal region of the Tongass support a thriving population of 5 salmon species that are the backbone of the region’s economy.

Even though it is winter, there is a lot happening in and around our public lands. There is a lot of excitement among public land managers around two recent pieces of legislation and the much-needed funds that will be allocated: The Great American Outdoors act – signed into law by President Trump; and the Bipartisan Infrastructure and Jobs Act – recently signed by President Biden.
