By Friday, October 9th, we need you to make a quick comment to help stop the world’s largest fracked gas-to-methanol refinery in Kalama, WA. The gas will be burned overseas as fuel or feedstock to make into plastics. For the sake of the climate, we can’t let this happen.
Please read the information below and use the links for your comments. A huge thanks to Damon Motz-Storey of Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility for this information. Damon and I are on the Stand Up To Oil Executive Committee.
Here's the action portal to send comments directly to WA Department of Ecology: https://p2a.co/vq805sm
More information and talking points can be found here: https://powerpastfrackedgas.org/kalama/
Finally, some grassroots social media tips: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cGtSsh9TGUnzu-Htl6mzRwARcUd1_8Wn/view
Other opportunities to comment on various fossil fuel proposals or expansions are coming up. Please watch the Old Fossil and TLC Facebook pages for more information and links. I talk about PNW fossil fuel proposals when they happen on my radio show, Earth Matters Now, Tuesday at noon on KYRS, 88.1 and 92.3 FM. Or you can live stream it at www.kyrs.org. If you have any environmental events, hearings, etc., please let me know so I can mention it on the show. Lastly, you can submit a PSA about your event to submitpsa@kyrs.org. Earth Matters Now also has a Facebook page.
Natural capital a missing piece in climate policy.
