Make a Difference: Plant a Tree

RFS Infographic2.png

As you know, there are so many benefits of trees. Yes, trees provide shade and beautify our landscapes, but they also provide countless other benefits - they combat climate change, reduce stormwater runoff, and clean the air that we breathe.

Did you know that a single tree can:

  • Provide enough oxygen for 4 people (!)

  • Remove 26,000 tons of air pollution from a mid-sized city

  • Absorb 48 pounds of carbon dioxide and release into the air as oxygen

Global forests remove 1/3 of fossil fuel emissions annually, provide the entire planet with oxygen, and give us clean drinking water. Trees are pretty amazing!

We plant hundreds of trees each year and now we need your help -

On October 10th, we are hosting our annual Reforest Spokane Day in partnership with Avista at Marshall Creek. Unlike previous years, we are not hosting a large gathering, but rather we will plant trees in small groups and shifts -- so we can make a big difference while staying safe.

One of the easiest and most powerful things that you can do is simple: planting a tree
