What’s in Your Backyard?

By Laura Ackerman

Many projects were put on hold in our professional and personal lives in 2020. One thing worldwide that has been happening is pandemic wildlife photography. Instead of so many selfies, humans everywhere are using their cell phones to take photos of all those other creatures who graciously share the Earth with us.

Please send me your photos along with your name (or anonymous will do too), date, and general location (for example, downtown Spokane). With your permission, I will put them on the TLC website or Facebook page. I may also put them on the Earth Matters Now FB page. Reminder: Earth Matters Now is my radio show with Mike Petersen every Tuesday at noon on community radio KYRS 88.1 and 92.3 FM. You can live stream any radio show at KYRS.org.

The photos don’t have to be recent. You can send ones that have been taken over the past pandemic months. If you want to make a note about the photo all the better. The photos can be of flora or fauna, big or little, unnoticed or charismatic. And they certainly don’t have to be professional.

Please also consider sending your photo and data to: A Community for Naturalists · iNaturalist
